THSR 3 DAYS PASS
Exchange Order:
  •     The Exchange Order for a THSR PASS can only be used for the purpose of exchanging for a THSR PASS; it cannot be used for boarding the trains.
  •     The Exchange Order for a THSR PASS must be used within the valid period to exchange for a PASS at station ticket windows.
  •     Please present the Exchange Order and your Passport when exchanging. If the original copy of your Passport cannot be presented, or if the Passport identity is different to that of the Exchange Order, THSR reserve the right to refuse the exchange.
  •     The valid period of the PASS should be specified when exchanging; it is calculated based on the consecutive accumulation of days from the starting date, within 30 days from the date the PASS was issued; once the starting date is set, it cannot be changed.
  •     Should the Exchange Order be lost, damaged or stolen, no reissuance, application for loss or refund will be accepted.
  •     Refund is only available if the Exchange Order has not been used and is within the valid period. Refund process can only be handled from the original issuing office and a 10% fee will be applied to each refund.
  •     Once the Exchange Order is exchanged for a THSR PASS, no form of change or return will be accepted.
  •     The Exchange Order for Children is suitable for children from age 6 to and including age 11. Please present the Passport when exchanging; if disqualified, THSR reserve the right to refuse the exchange.

Pass:
  •     The PASS can only be used by the individual owner and is not transferable.
  •     The PASS is limited to use within the valid period. The passenger is permitted to take the Taiwan High Speed Rail trains for an unlimited number of times during the valid period. The valid period of the PASS should be specified
when exchanging; it is calculated based on the consecutive accumulation of days from the starting date, within 30 days from the date the PASS was issued; once the starting date is set, it cannot be changed.
  •     This PASS is valid for travel in non-reserved seat cars; should the passenger need to take reserved standard seat, please reserve in advance at the ticketing window at no additional charge, however the following must be noted:
o  Reservations must be made by presenting the PASS and an original copy of the passport at the station ticket
windows; no online or telephone reservations will be accepted.
o    During peak hours or national holidays, seat availability is not guaranteed. Should seat reservation not be available due to full booking, please make use of the non-reserved seat service.
o    When taking reserved standard seat with the PASS, please board the train in accordance with the seating information specified in the inner pages of the PASS during the reservation.
  •     When traveling with the PASS, the passenger is limited to enter and exit the stations via the manned gates; please bring the original copy of passport for verification purposes. If the passport cannot be presented, or the identity on the PASS does not match the passenger, the passenger will not be allowed to board the train; those who have already boarded the train will be asked to purchase another ticket.
  •     The PASS does not accept any form of change or return. If the PASS is lost, damaged or stolen, no reissuance, application for loss or refunds will be given.
  •     During extraordinary circumstances such as train delays, interruption of service or cancellation of trains, the PASS will not be compensated for, nor will the valid period be extended.
  •     Only the original copy of the PASS is valid; any photocopying, alteration, forging or damage that is beyond recognition will be deemed invalid.

FLEXIBLE 2-DAY PASS
Exchange Order:
  •    The Exchange Order for a THSR PASS can only be used for the purpose of exchanging for a THSR PASS; it cannot be used for boarding the trains.

  •     Should the Exchange Order be lost, damaged or stolen, no reissuance, application for loss or refund will be accepted.
  •     If the Exchange Order is not used, please apply for return at the original ticketing agent within the valid period; a10% handling fee will be charged for returns.
  •     Once the Exchange Order is exchanged for a THSR Pass, no form of change or return will be accepted.

Pass:

  •     This Pass can be used only within the valid period. Furthermore, the passenger is permitted to take trains for an unlimited number of times within 3 days of the specified date (not applicable for business cars.
o  The first day of the valid period can be any specified day within the 30 day period of the exchange.

o  The second and third days of the valid period should be any two specified days within seven days of the first

day of boarding the train.
  •     This Pass is valid for travel in non-reserved seat cars; should the passenger need to take reserved standard seat, please reserve in advance at the ticketing window at no additional charge, however the following must be noted:
o  Reservations must be made by presenting the Pass and an original copy of the passport at the station ticket
windows; no online or telephone reservations will be accepted.
o    During peak hours or national holidays, seat availability is not guaranteed. Should seat reservation not be available due to full booking, please make use of the non-reserved seat service.
o    When taking reserved standard seat with the Pass, please board the train in accordance with the seating information specified in the inner pages of the pass during the reservation.
  •     When traveling using this Pass, the passenger is limited to enter and exit the stations via the manned gates, where the
station staff will inspect the date to ensure that the validity period is correct. Please bring the original copy of your passport for verification purposes. If the date is not within the valid period or if you cannot present your passport, or, when the identity on the Pass does not match that of the passenger, he/she will not be allowed to board the train.
  •     The Pass does not accept any form of change or return. If the Pass is lost, damaged or stolen, no reissuance, application for loss or refunds will be given.
  •     During extraordinary circumstances such as train delays, interruption of service or cancellation of trains, the Pass will not be compensated for, nor will the valid period be extended.

5 Day standard joint pass
Exchange Order:
  •     This “Exchange Voucher for the Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS” may only be used in exchange for the “Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS”, but cannot be used for the ride directly.
  •     The “Exchange Voucher for the Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS” must be used in exchange for the “Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS” at the THSR/Taiwan Railway ticket window within the valid period. (Exchange at the Taiwan Railway must be made at specified ticket window)
  •     Please show this voucher and the original copy of your passport when making the exchange. The THSR and Taiwan Railway Administration reserve the right to reject the exchange if the original copy of the passport is not shown, or the identity of the passport does not match the identity of the exchange voucher.
  •     You are required to specify a valid period for the “Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS” when making the exchange. The specified valid period cannot be changed.

o    The first date of the valid period can be any specified day within the 30 day period of the exchange.

o    The valid period for the Taiwan Railway is calculated in 5 consecutive days starting from the first date (inclusive) of boarding the train.

o    The valid period for the THSR is any two specified days within the 5 days of the first date (inclusive) of boarding the train.

Taiwan Railway/THSR train types.
  •     Dates are calculated as such that one day means 00:00 to 23:59 on the same day. For instance, when purchasing the Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS, and choosing January 1st of 2013, as the first date of the valid period, then the Taiwan Railway valid period for the passenger will be from 2013-01-01 00:00 till 2013-01-05 23:59; the valid period for the THSR will be any two specified days within the previously mentioned 5 days.
  •     If this voucher is lost, damaged or stolen, no reissuance, application for loss or refunds will be given.
  •     If this voucher is not used, you may apply for a refund at the ticket agent where it was purchased within the valid period; a 10% handling fees will be charged for the refund. After this voucher has been exchanged for the
“Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway PASS”, no form of change or return will be accepted.
    The children’s exchange voucher is restricted for children over 6 years old and under 12 years old to exchange for the Standard 5-Day THSR and Taiwan Railway Children’s PASS. A passport is required upon the exchange for confirmation; no exchange will be accepted for those not qualified as children.

  •     Traveling on the Chu-Kuang Express and Fu-Hsing Semi Express is available with vacant seats, but reserved standard seat service will not be offered.
o    During peak hours or national holidays, seat availability is not guaranteed by the THSR and Taiwan Railway.

o    During extraordinary circumstances such as train delays, interruption of service or cancellation of trains, the PASS will not be compensated for, nor will the valid period be extended by the THSR and Taiwan Railway.
